FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PHOENIX, AZ – July 25, 2009 – Many early candidates have filed with the Secretary of State to campaign for Arizona’s gubernatorial seat. So far there is only one person who is actively campaigning online with a complete website to represent his candidacy, supporters, and message. That person is John Paul Mitchell. Mitchell, 30, is an Independent candidate with a strong anti-tax message running for Arizona’s highest executive office, and on July 30th, 2009, from 6-8 p.m., his campaign will be hosting its inaugural event of the election season.
The 2-hour introductory campaign event is titled, “John Paul Mitchell: Not Just Another Political Elite.” Arizona citizens have the chance to attend the event from the comfort of their homes, since it is hosted over the Internet. Mitchell will be answering questions from constituents on a number of hot topics, such as abortion, immigration, taxes, unemployment, and the notorious state budget crisis.
Mitchell for Arizona, the official campaign committee for Mitchell’s candidacy, will be using the free live blogging platform ScribbleLive to interact with voters and supporters online. The service allows questions to be submitted into a queue by users, then answered by the host or participants in real-time. ScribbleLive allows online users to login with their Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live, or Flickr credentials. Guests without these social media accounts can still submit comments during the virtual event.
“As a child who grew up surrounded by emerging technologies like the Internet and mobile devices,” Mitchell said, “I wanted to focus on this community early on and interact in a very direct, personal way.” Mitchell plans to host monthly live online chats throughout his candidacy. He claims, “It is never too early to begin campaigning and the Internet provides the right tools to connect and communicate efficiently.”
On the night of the event, starting at 6 p.m., anyone with an Internet connection can direct their web browsers to http://aznextgov.org/connect/live/, tune in, watch, and participate. The timeliness of this event allows Arizona citizens to avoid traffic, stay indoors from the summer heat where it is cool, and interact with Arizona’s youngest gubernatorial candidate.
John Paul Mitchell is an Independent candidate for Arizona’s 2010 gubernatorial race. As a businessman and fiscal conservative, Mitchell believes government should be run like a business. This belief stems from the irresponsibility of politicians, from both the executive and legislative branches of our state republic, to balance a responsible budget. Additionally, Mitchell has authored a book titled “No More Taxes,” a historical and spiritual book on the ethics and morality of money and taxes that lies down the fundamentals of why America was founded, why it was necessary for international bankers to start a centralized banking system, and how the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was never legally ratified. Mitchell is available for interviews and additional comments. For additional information, please visit http://www.aznextgov.org.
